Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can provide a student educational plan.

Some examples of student education plan modifications include:

• create a SEP. ( student educational plan each year)

• provide modifications and academic goals for the current school year.

Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can improve students focus by providing a environment modification that encourage learning 

Some examples of environment modifications include:

• create a quiet area.

• provide a comfy chair or mat that student would like to seat at.

• use of natural light or dim light.  (depends on students condition)

• provide healthy snacks to provide positive reinforcers and better focus.

• provide claiming features to the environment such as (favorite toy or item that helps calm student) 

Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can improve students reading.

Some examples of reading modifications include:

• provide read-out-loud books.

• watch reading channels. ( reading rainbow, etc.)

• use large print books.

• use simple books.  ( 10 pages or less)

Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can improve students writing/spelling.

Some examples of writing/spelling modifications include:

• use washable markers instead of pencils. ( easel boards )

• use communications device. ( AAC device or other communication boards or devices)

• use sign language.

• use other writing methods. ( tablet, finger paint, magnet letters, etc.)

Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can improve students math.

Some examples of writing/spelling modifications include:

• use math games.

• use math visuals. ( videos or pictures)

• use helpful tool such as calculators and flash cards.

Parent teachers with students with learning disabilities can provided modified testing to their students. 

Some examples of modified testing include:

• test that are short with simple instructions.

• test that is not timed.

• test that include large print.   (above 12 point font)

• test that allows use of calculators.

• open test. (could include parents assistance or open book)
